A FESTIVAL-THEMED PARTY?
Indeed, that was the question. The year was 2017. America was getting used to new president Donald Trump (unfortunately only for the first time). Only our nurse friends knew what a coronavirus was. And a lease in College Park was about to end... but not without one more awesome party. In the basement of a house on St. Andrews Place, Slothapalooza was conceived and celebrated talented friends (one has an IMDB page for crying out loud) and gathered multitudes of crews for brews, tunes, and positive vibes.
Slothapalooza 1: The In-House Music & Arts Festival was held July 22nd, 2017, and featured local acts like Nick Williams, Treehouse, and our very own Second Place.

A FESTIVAL?
As the summer of 2018 started to warm the toes of the Sloths of yesteryear, another big question was on everyone's minds. What if we upped the ante? Could we?
Lindsay upped it right back. "What if we did just that... with a waterfront view?"
Slothapalooza 2: The On-the-Water Music & Arts Festival was hosted by the Corsica River Yacht Club in Centreville, Maryland on September 22nd, 2018. Along the shores of the beautiful Corsica River, acts like Mirth, Jacob Jasper & Ryan Moran, Emma Hoey and Ryan Webster graced our stages.

As with anything that happens two years in a row... folks, we had a tradition on our hands! "So what now?" we all wondered. We checked calendars. How do we make this happen? Gosh, we're getting busy.
"We all seem to be free one day in October." Well okay, so how do we possibly take it a step further this year?
Fires begin with a spark. Or so I've heard.
Sitting in a circle on Craig's porch, Anna wondered, "What if we called it Slothtoberfest?"

Slothapalooza 3: Slothtoberfest was held on October 12th, 2019 and featured acts such as Brecreation, The Chance Club, and Jonni Curtis. The Big Ol' October Bites tent sold brats and the like. And like the rising tides of a tropical storm often can, the rising tides of a tropical storm did NOT shut down the party.

Five months later, a storm did come. Twas not a winter storm, but the thunderous crashing of a New, Invisible Enemy ™️. Sloth Daddy’s choir of tunes, grooves and love came to a halt in 2020… and lay silent for years. Many wondered if he would ever return from his Slumber.
Yet it was in the face of these Unprecedented Times ™️ that there were whispers… for as the legends foretold… after the Plague… came the Renaissance.
As Farleigh Dickinson became the first First Four team to dethrone a Boilermaker 1 seed, artists from across the region were pounding boilermakers and planning what was to come next. It was mere months after the Perryville Casino Uprising and a slew of Baltimore-area bands were ready to join The Resistance. Or as Sloth Daddy likes to call it …
SLOTHAPALOOZA last returned to the shores of the Corsica on June 3rd, 2023 and featured The Noize, an originals-wielding Second Place, Leevy Skeevy, and many other familiar faces.
Sloth Nation, we stand on the precipice of a consequential moment. For our brothers and sisters before us, for this grand, ever-unfolding tapestry of our collective Sloth, for what is to come is surely incredible.
All you have to do to now… is buy a ticket.
